Q: How do I apply to your program?
A: The program accepts applications through Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). The required documents for an application are a Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE), formal school transcripts, USMLE/COMLEX transcripts, at least one Emergency Medicine Standard Letter of Evaluation (SLOE), and a personal statement.
Q: Do you have United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE)/Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination (COMLEX) minimum score requirements?
A: Applicants must have passed USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 or the COMLEX Level 1 and Level 2.
Q: What is the size of your program?
A: The Emergency Medicine program has expanded to 11 residents per class for a total size of 33 residents in all.
Q: What makes Trident Medical Center a good choice for an emergency medicine resident?
A: Trident provides training in multiple community environments with mainly 1:1 faculty to resident scheduling. There is extensive pediatric, ultrasound, and critical care exposure and the faculty are extremely well-trained and excited about educating Trident residents.

Q: Is there a research program?
A: Yes, our residents and faculty are currently involved in several research projects. Additionally, a research director, writing resources, data analysts, and opportunities to present work are available to assist residents with projects. Residents complete one scholarly project and one quality improvement project.
